Starting a Reef Log | |

I already got the reef I'm going to start seriously keeping the online log AFTER I convert it to a 29 gallon. I decided that 37 gallon would be too tall for me to keep lighting cheap. So for now, lets get rockin' 20 gallon long Aquaclear 70 with only sponge H.O.T. Magnum filled with Carbon Power Sweep 214 Hagen 100 watt Thermal heater Coralife 24" Compact Flourescent 65 watt 6700K 21 pounds Fiji Live Rock Potter's Angelfish Royal Gramma Red Banded Goby Tiger Pistol Shrimp Peppermint Shrimp Banded Coral Shrimp Emerald Crab ? x Blue Legged Hermit Crabs ? x Zebra Hermit Crabs 4 x Nassarius Snails 3 x Astraea Snails Yellow Polyps Xenia 3 x Mushroom Coral Zoathids Toadstool Leather Coral |

Took some time for her to start eating frozen, and shes still a little iffy, but her belly looks good and its obvious shes getting at least ENOUGH. As for her eating my soft corals, the only thing she ate was some Anthelia looking stuff that came on the rock my yellow polyps are on. I only assume she ate them because they started to disappear once I introduced her. They were growing between my yellow polyps, so she had to get past them in order to get to the Anthelia, so I think she will leave them alone. I did get her knowing she may nip my corals, but it was a risk I was willing to take. |

I was told that I wasn't the only one with this problem from my store, so it looks like we just got a bad shipment. Anyway, other than that I've changed over to 50/50 lighting now. My 6700K was getting due for a change anyway, so I just got 50/50 instead. Corals seem to be doing great. Also as a note, I might be getting rid of my Banded Coral Shrimp, just because I think hes just to bulky in my tank. |

I bet the 50/50 makes everything look quite a bit nicer. When do we see some pics? Critical Fertilator: The Micromanager of Macronutrients |

As for the leather, It just started to die. Lost color and basically, just looked bad. A bunch of other people were having the same problem, so my manager said that I could bring it back. With the 50/50, everything DOES look nicer. Anyway, I'm going to upgrade to a 46 BF. |
