after having my liverock set in place since cycling "7 months ago" ive finally decieded im not happy with the layout. not just one or two pieces but the entire structure. my rockwork is currently laid out in a straight wall with plenty of caves etc but i want to add more base rock and more liverock to give more hieght to the structure as well as changing it from a straight wall to a curved U shape to allow my spots for coral placement.
my questions are
1) do i have to remove my three fish-clown, coral beauty and bi colour blenny as they might get stressed with all the movement?
2) is it ok to place the corals in the corner for a day or two while i rearrange all the rock work?
3) how slowly should i add more liverock which the lfs claims is cured?
4) has any body else done anything similar?

thank you in advance for the replies

Well I don't have any corals yet but I reworked my tank when it was about 9 months old.I removed all the live rock about 80 to 100lbs into a tub. Then removed the fish to a couple of 10g tanks and then covered them to make it dark.Reworked the rock, added the fish and everything worked out pretty good.Only losses were a few tiny creatures off the rock.I did get to see some neat things in the tub after I removed the rock that I may have never seen if not for the reworking.

Yeah the filter floss and carbon is a good idea, I have done this once before too...
Moving your live rock after it has been in place for a while is going to cause an ammonia spike because the bacteria at the contact points will all die. I'm not sure what the proper course of action is but I left my fish and corals in the tank and just re-arranged around them.... The fish will stay clear. so did my crabs, shrimp and star.... watch out for the stupid snails though..
I had no problems and all was back to normal again in just a couple of hours. Oh yeah, I did a water change as soon as I was done (about 15%)
Again I must say... I'm sure there are safer ways to do it but I didn't have any problems.
And it was done fairly quickly too.
