reel big mark Hobbyist Posts: 131 Kudos: 112 Registered: 29-Jun-2005 | ok, i checked my parameters that i can check until i get a real test kit, the one i have now is one where u dip the stick into the water, which i had it checked vs one at my LFS and it was pretty acurate, only a little differance well, it doesnt have amonia, but my nitrItes were at 0, no color change at all, and my nitrAtes, had gone up to around 10ish so i think im gonna do a water change today, maybe in invert or two this weekend, im think of adding either a feather duster or a turbo snail. i have some hair algea(probably from not having RO/DI water, i m trying to get soem soon) what kind of invert would work in a 5 1/2 gallon nano and help clear some of that up? ~sk8~ its me sk8freak20...i need to get premie so i can change my name back |

The bacteria culture will help to weight the silt down You didnt use the garbage bag trick did you? |

Once you add the salt its going to become cloudy for a small amount of time again, but with good circulation it will pass. i would suggest waiting a day or two before you throw your rock in after you add the salt, just to make sure that the parameters stay stable. DarkRealm Overlord Moderator metal-R-us Posts: 5962 Kudos: 2166 Registered: 23-Sep-2002 | Nope, its def. not worth the extra money....all it is gonna have is possibly some bacteria. Use dry sand and your rock will take care of the rest |

BTW, the DSB "bad stuff" is just a bunch of bunk. If you take care of your tank and dont totally disturb the sand bed you wont have any problems |

reel big mark Hobbyist Posts: 131 Kudos: 112 Registered: 29-Jun-2005 | ok, so i dont have time to explain but its gonna be a 10 gallon, so water or anything in the tank, but im gonna get ready for that, and i cant decide what to do for a sand bed, i dont know if i want BB, but since its not SPS i dont think im gonna do that, but i heard bad thigns about DSB's, can i just put like a inch or two, just enough to be apealing without any problems, im about to order my sand maybe and im deciding between carib sea live sand or normal argamax sand. ~mark~ its me sk8freak20...i need to get premie so i can change my name back |
