Added some other options for food. Added male:female ratio because I think its important info. |

How come? Platies, at least from what I know, are from freshwater streams and by no means brackish by nature. Yes, I have heard about platies from the mouth of some rivers, meaning that there may be salt content in the water, but this is not the norm or a requirement for the fish. In addition, how many of us actually have a Platy that was wild caught? Given that most people who will refer to this profile shop at the LFS and buy the colorful breeds, all these fish have been in freshwater tanks and basins since generations. In addition, if you refer to salt as an addition to improve a fishs health, then I have to say that clean water is even more important (the part you took out) than salt as the first maintains health while the latter tries to restore it. I agree with you, that platies are perfectly fine in freshwater since they've been bred in it for many generations. I have heard from various sources that salt will be beneficial but I don't know if I believe it or not. Since I was unsure on this point I just decided to leave it in. I guess we could just take it out if everyone feels the same way. |

I dont consider salt really necessary though, especially since most specimens are true freshwater fish , not souced from sinotes. The entry is an improvement, and technically I approve, but it might be better to wait for the entry to be adjusted to not include a mention of salt. It simply isnt a requirement for 99% of these fish. |

I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash. |
