Colored widow tetras? | |
upikabu Fish Addict Posts: 591 Kudos: 393 Votes: 44 Registered: 08-Jun-2005 | I went to a nearby LFS today and saw widow tetras with some very strange colors - one group was light blue (more like the color you get if you accidentally mix your whites with a blue sock in the wash ) and another was orange-ish. They're labelled simply as "colored widow tetras". I didn't get to ask details since they were busy. Has anyone seen something like this before? They just don't look normal to me; looks like someone threw a dye into a tank of white skirt tetras to make these! -P |

Not only that, but the dyeing process is very bad for the fish, and will usually shorten their lifespan. Here's a link to a website that can go more into detail on what dyeing does to fish... Read the link that sirbooks mentioned above & see yourself the cruelty done to the fish. Just never buy Dyed fish. http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/s8xi5heh/my_photos http://www.geocities.com/s8xi5heh/classic_blue.html http://groups.yahoo.com/group/buzaqq/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

And I know that this particular LFS import most of their fish from Asia. Anyways, that totally turns me off that place! ]:| Thanks for the link! -P |
