No love for the Columbian Tetra? They'd have to be my favourite.

I'll have to Email you some pics Bruce ...

Actually, I got that name wrong, it should be Bryconamericus. Only trouble is, not every taxonomist regards it as a valid Genus. Sigh.

You seem to have a talent for acquiring tetras I've never even heard of. I can only find a couple of passing Web references to "Junior Pandurinis", which tell me nothing about them -- not even what they look like -- except that they're Hyphessobrycons. And I can't find ANY Web reference to ANY fish with the genus name of Bryconamerica, let alone the "Peruvian Sapphire Tetra". Is http://www.geocities.com/mikefjacobs/blueredtetra.jpg by any chance what you're referring to? (I fell in love with this fish the moment I saw its picture, but I have yet to see a live one.)

Ah, yet another 'favourite Tetra' thread.

Let's see. In my case, among my favourites I have to list Cardinals, Lemons, Beckford's Pencil Fish, Rummy Noses, Silver Tips, Glowlights (all of which I've kept at one time or another) and the rare but incredibly beautiful Poecilocharax weitzmani. And I think it was Bruce Moomaw who introduced me to a practically luminescent violet species that if memory serves was called Inpaichthys kerri. Lovely fish.

Among the others I like are Kitty Tetras, Junior Pandurinis and something called the Peruvian Sapphire Tetra (currently residing under the scientific name of Bryconamerica sp. "peru").
