I finally bit the bullet and got some rummies. I was supposed to meet someone to go to a lfs an hour away but they never showed up. So I went to get something to eat and to get some more tetras for my 125g. I had to decide between rummies and cardinals. I ended up choosing the rummies since this place seems to get good ones. I got 6 of them and started QT. This is my first experiment into higher level care fish. Hopefully everything goes well and I go a little further.

Heh, rummy's are actually pretty easy once you get them settled in....-if- you get them settled in You really should have gotten more, IME you will always lose at least 1 rummy from your original purchase. My first purchase of 7 ended with 4 after the first 2 weeks. Then the 4 left were fine. Really they aren't hard to care for, but just hard to get to addapt...sorta like otos and Blue Rams. They are nit picky fish for a few days then bam they are fine

By the way, congrats...you will find them a bit of a challenge compared to other tetras, but not so difficult that you can't keep 'em alive

You've chosen the right Tetra's, as Rummynose Tetra's are very active, peaceful & colourful. I have a school of 18 & they are great. For sure, you're going to love yours & just keep up with the water changes & they'll be fine.
