If these are the guys you're talking about I really wouldn't suggest them for a 10 gallon, they really do need more space than that for swimming. I have 6 white skirt tetras, aka albino black skirt tetras in a 20 gallon and was commenting to Whetu this morning how swimming space really is an issue even for smaller fish, they really did seem to be running right out of space ].<.

They'll be okay for now, but I'd suggest looking into getting them a larger tank soon, or trading them back to the LFS....IMO anyway .

Because they are a fairly large tetra in both their fin height and in their eventual length, I wouldn't recommend them for a ten-gallon either. They would need 6-8 to school comfortably, but such a school would overstock a ten-gallon, so I'd just say that they should be avoided until a larger tank can be attained in the future...

PM/email/msg me if you have any questions/comments regarding me or my knowledge or if you want me to read a thread.

[font color="#C00000"] Ok, well, I am trading them back to my lfs.

Turns out, that an ex boyfriend found the fish that I want (Dwarf Puffers, because there are no stores who will sell them here) and he's buying them, and the lfs where he lives is shipping them to me!! I'm excited!

Anywho, will the five of them be ok in there for a while? Not a long while or anything...just a few weeks? maybe less?

Thanks!

Should be fine, especially if you don't over feed and keep up with maintenence for while they're there. Glad you were able to find the fish you wanted .
