Well, my lemon tetras have spawned again this morning! They seem to be doing it regularly now, especially after a feeding of frozen brine shrimp. I've got two males and five females in my tank, though not all of the females are mature yet. Anyways, I'm really happy that I have constant fish spawnings in my tank. That's a great achievement for me, especially since I've never bred fish before (I'm still pretty much a beginner), and lemon tetras are supposedly one of the harder tetras to spawn.

Anyways, I've got a question. Should I try to catch and raise the eggs, if it is easy enough? I have these fish in a community tank, so a breeder's trap/net/thing (I don't know what they're called) would be necessary, of course. I don't have another tank to move the eggs into, so any eggs would have to be raised with all my other fish. If I do decide to try and hatch the tetras eggs, how do I catch them and prevent the parents from eating them? And, how do I go about hatching them and raising the fry? Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm going with a rather heavily planted setup, and babies just started popping out of nowhere.

Thanks for the replies, I'll try to find more low-light plants that I can keep. Hopefully more plants will ensure that some fry survive.

I think I've found out a way to prevent the eggs from being eaten! I was feeding the fish this morning, before I noticed that the lemons were spawning. When the two that were 'active' shot out of their plant clump, they went after the food I'd just dumped in instead of the eggs. I guess these little stomachs like real grub more than their own eggs. Just a little something to think about.
