Hey folks,

Well, I have now identified the fry that I was surprised by in my QT. They are black neons. There are 4 of them, and they are growing quickly. They are a little short of a half inch long now, but still quite tiny looking. How big do they need to be before I can add them to my community tank? There's no rush to do it, but I was just wondering.

Congrats on the fry! they pretty much have to be big enough so that they cant fit into the mouth of any fish in your tank you have them in...i may be wrong wait for some more opinions...Hope this helps!

Unless you are 100% sure you can add the fry in, I would wait until they are the size of the fish you see in a LFS. Basically, wait until they are about an inch in size, or maybe even bigger.

I pretty much agree with the above statements. Make sure the fry are large enough so that they will not be eaten or attacked by any of the fish in your community tank.

Hey folks,

Well my 4 little fry are all doing nicely. They are minature versions of their parents now. They now school & all hang out together. What I found to be quite intesting is that 1 of them is considerabley larger then the others. He or she is aleast 1/3 bigger then the other 3. I think that it was the once to first discover eating from the top of the tank.
