Does anyone have any experience with these. I have looked on the internet and have gotten some info but would like personal experiences.

Hyphessobrycon flammeus, right? My experience was that they're quite hardy, very tolerant of temperature fluctuations and low temperatures, lovely schoolers, and all-around beautiful fish. Can't go wrong with these guys.

Is there anything in particular you'd like to know about them?

They are good community fish, should be kept in schools, and don't add much to a tank's bioload.

Do you know if they do well with guppies, neon tetras, red fin tetras, ottos, swordtails, or harlequin rasboras? Would they be one of the first fish to add to a new aquarium after it is cycled?

Guppies, neons, otos, swords, harlies - sure.
Red-fin tetras - do you know the scientific name of these? That's not a common name I'm familiar with, and since many tetras are nippy, I hesitate to give a blanket "yes."

It's flammeus, but, yep, that's the one we're talking about. The name I was looking for was for the "red-fin tetras" you mentioned.

Ah, bloodfins, okay. I've never heard red-fin as a name for them, so I thought it best to check. Yes, that should be fine, although my personal recommendation would be to pick perhaps two schooling species you like out of that list and keep large groups of those - it's a much lovelier affect, and the fish will be happier, than with small groups of a bunch of schoolers.
