I also heard they eat plants, will they eat all of my java moss and fern? They are only about 3-4" right now. Also, is the only way to tell apart a male from a female is that the male has the red on his anal fin? Thanx for any advice! -Nick |

They will be more shy when only two are in a tank. I recommend adding more if you have the room. I don't think that they eat plants outright, just take a few nibbles every now and then. If you keep them nice and full, they shouldn't pose much of a threat to your plants. As for sexing, what you've heard is correct. Males have red on their anal fins, and are a little slimmer than females. |

They are voracious herbivores, just like many other carachins. Great choice of fish, I would recommend getting at least 2 more, preferably 4 if you feel you have space.
