What teras would go well with some discus in large shoals. It is a 240L tank with the bread & butter community fish and also well planted.

What is your fish load now, meaning how many of each fish do you have in there now?

What are the other community fish in the tank?

Depending on what other fish you have, you'll need some tetras which are tolerant of higher water temperatures and won't bother the discus at all. Cardinal and rummynose tetras are usually good choices. This does depend on your stock list though, as stated above.

As Sirbooks stated above, Cardinals and Rummy Nosed Tetras are the premier choice of Characins to share an aquarium with Discus. Rummies in particular will appreciate the warm water that Discus like, as Rummies are 'hothouse' Characins that like it around 80°F and above.

To give you an idea of the kind of display that is possible, Liverpool Museum had an aquarium with Discus, Cardinals and Rummies in (about 30 Discus with 200 each of the Tetras or thereabouts!) and the spectacle was amazing. Mind you, they did have a 1,000 gallon tank for their setup

With Tetra's i only suggest Rummynose Tetras, as they are very beautiful & stunning fish.

with the bread & butter community fish

There was a reason I asked about these. It appears you are at, or very close to a full stock list for your tank. I would not add any discus to that tank. A school of tetras would be fine to add, and would put you at your limits IMO. And you could increase your school of the tetras you already have. Though depending on your water change regime, and your filters, you could add more. But I would not add any discus. Your pleco, if not alreay, will get up to 20 inches long, and thus take up about a third of your bioload in your tank. You might want to re-consider him for this tank.
