Never thought of white skirts as exactly nippy, but mine seem to be. They nip after the danios, after the WCMM's they nip each other....I have the oldest (happens to have long fins) hiding under/behind the powerhead and in the plants, and the smallest one being chased around the tank by everyone. I've had all six for 3 months I can't be sure that they've been like this before...any ideas or things I'm missing

Black skirts have always meant trouble for me. White skirts being just a color variation, I would think they'd be fairlt similar in temperment.

I had had 2 black skirts for awhile (liberated tank, don't ask ) and they would be @each other all the time (named them tweedle dum and tweedle dee) but I figured that in a larger school they wouldnt' be nippy?
I'm getting that even in a larger than 6 member school they'd still be nippy ?

Usually nippy fish are less so in larger schools, or they at least contain their behavior within the school. This is true of tiger barbs, and usually tetras as well. I'll bet that increasing the school will do your tetras good. My lemon tetras were quite nippy, until I increased their school to six. They have calmed down since then.

Nippy fish are still nippy in schools. Larger numbers are reccomended for nippy fish because they have more targets to nip at, simple as that.

I have six.

As for Cup_of_Lifenoodles' commetns, I have to agree. Noticed definate nipping going on among the the 50+ cards @the baltimore aquarium. Guess I expected it from tigers not tetras....ah well another reason to not buy them anymore.
