What are your experiences with the bloodfin tetra? Compatibility? Where they swim in the water? Active? Any info would be great. If you don't care much for these, what other kind of small tetra would you recommend?

Some info on the bloodfin tetras:http://www.fishprofiles.com/profiles/fw/profile.asp?id=Aphyocharax+anisitsi

Personally, I've heard they are good fish for a community tank.

Bloodfins are a terrific tetra, especially if they're your first one. They are hardy, long lived, active, and school better than most. You'll find they spend more time in the upper area of the water, but will swim in the middle, too. They may also breed on occasion, but like all tetras, have a fondness for their own eggs. They are also a terrific fish for most communities. Enjoy them!
