These active fish greatly benefit from having companions around, and will zoom around the tank in their school. At work, our Congos like to swim around in circles in large groups, which is really funny to watch! Yes, these fish should definitely be kept in schools of at least six fish. |

I had six but one died so i now have five (3 males, 2 females)but they seem to be doing fine with just five. In fact, they dont even shoal. Instead, they usuall swim in pairs and trios, analogous to cherry barbs and other semi social puntiids. |
