Saw a tank of small fish at a lcs today labelled 'blue red eye tetras'. Maybe 1-1.5", long slim tetra body, grey-silver color with what looked like large blue eyes.

I'm not having any luck searching online, any ideas?

Do they look like the "Red Eyed Tetras"? But with blue eyes?

No, the body shape was more streamlined, similar to a cardinal or glowlight.

Whenever I see the name 'tetra' on an unknown fish, I figure there's a chance it could be something else. Two fish I've had with bluish eyes are Normans Killifish, Aplocheilichthys normani, and the Green-eyed Rasbora, R. dorsiocellata. Could it be one of those?

Thank you, I'm going to have to do more research but I think they may have been Aplocheilichthys normani. They also had golden wonder killies so this wouldn't surprise me.

Drives me nuts when they don't use scientific names ]:|
