I have a 2 foot RedTail Catfish, this is not the first time he gets sick, but this time he was almost up to the point of death, with some prayers and water changes and conditioner, now he's swimming instead of laying belly up and swimming swirls. But the problem is that of course the water change and the conditioner didn't do much because his skin is like rotten, he has some blood showing in his whiskers, some exposed underskin, some fins are like eaten away, and I only have two other fish that are not aggressive, an electric cat fish that's always hidden at the bottom with the peliterous(sp?), so it has to be either ick, white spots or something like that. The water test results are fine, except for the PH, HAS ALWAYS BEEN BELOW 7.0. It doesn't matter what I do it's always around 6.0 no nitrate, ni nitrite, no ammonia, kh and gh is normal. It's just to see him that way, hurting! he hasn't stopped swimming for 3 days now. his belly is so full with open sores that he doesn't lay on it, so all he can do is swim and swim. Today I will be going to the petshop and buying some medicine, I have used Quick cure and that gave me good results before. What other medicine can I try besides the one that makes the water blue and I cannot use any filters, cuz it will damage the biological filter?.

Actually, He's much better than before, i just wanted some medicine so that his skin regenerates and gets better, he still doesn't eat, but I think is because he's in pain, today I did another water change and the ph went up from 6.0 to 6.2, which is a major improvement, no ammonia, no nitrate, no nitrite, etc, everything is fine, the water is a little cloudy, but i think is because of the him loosing some of his skin and makes the water cloudy, i cleaned it today and did a 30 percent water change, put conditioner in, and we'll see what happens. Thanks for your input
