Things that seem like severe handicaps to us barely seem to bother them. I have several fish that are missing eyes and a Curviceps that was born without any trace of a tail, and all of them are as healthy and vigorous as the non-handicapped fish. longhairedgit Fish Guru Lord of the Beasts Posts: 2502 Kudos: 1778 Votes: 29 Registered: 21-Aug-2005 | Doesnt need to be a fight even, sometimes a minor scratch can start a small infection that blinds the eye and doesnt spread further. Just damn bad luck sometimes. Just occasionally something dietary can be missing that causes the integrity of eye tissues to suffer, and vitamins c & e can be used to counteract it. One off's are usually just unlucky injuries. If another happens you might want to see which fish are being particularly brusque and dominant and possibly seperate them, or start looking into infections.
