I have noticed that his dark color seems to be fading. When I came home for my lunch break a was alarmed to find that he has lost almost all of his color and is almost white. What is wrong with him, and how do I make him better? |

Plecs are well-known for developing washed-out colors on white or light-colored gravel. ![]() I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash. |

I just wasn’t sure if that could be the case. I noticed that the tank they had him in in the store had black gravel, and our tank has light colored sand. He does seem to be close to matching the color of the sand. His activity level is still normal, he isn’t acting sick or stressed out. I am hoping that this is all there is to it. I wasn’t able to test my water as my testing kit is at my mother-in-laws house, but the tank has been set up for a while and all my other fish are just fine. |
