He must have been sick for a while. I few days ago he started laying on his side. I know he has a swim bladder problem. I think it is a side effect of the more serious illness. He is approx. three years old and in a 30 gal. with only a plec. as a tank mate. The water parameters are perfect. No ammonia, No nitrites or -trates. Is there anyway to help him recover or should I just go ahead and put him out of his misery? ![]() |

Sorry, I know that doesnt really help. Part of it depends on how advanced the cause of the SBD is. If you can catch it early and treat fast there's often a greater chance of recovery. If it was my fish I'd do my best to medicate it before euthanizing. Other people may be willing just to euthanize without further trouble on their part, that's a decision you have to make. ^_^[hr width='40%'] ![]() ![]() ![]() |
