My electric yellow died today of what i think was malawi bloat symptoms included bloated stomach no appetitate leathargic when it died it developed redness around the anus and red marks on its body and this all happened in the space of 24 hours. I had it in isolation but im worried that it may have already spread to my other fish.

If anyone has any other diagnosis please advise.

Also should i treat the whole tank? i didnt move the fish to the isolation tank till this morning so whatever it had would have had time to spread.

Sorry i cant provide parameters at the moment as i am getn a tester kit this weekend. Its a 55g tank which has been running for at least 8 months.

Thanks!

Sounds bacterial, but that could be triggered by water perameters making the fish vulnerable, see what the test kit tells you. Throw in some melafix to see if you can kill at least some of the bacteria that may be in the water until you have something a bit more conclusive.

If the anus was red you could be dealing with internal parasites, i would check other fish amus to see if there is anything prutruding from there anus, also red patches on the body is septicemia.
