It's a 32 gallon. 6 danios, 6 black neons. I have an AC 200. I got the cories over a week ago. They were fine until today. Water is fine.
Ammonia - 0
NitrIte - 0
NitrAte - 0
pH: 7.6
Temp: 25C (around 76F i think)
It appears that one of them kinda has a few whitish spots but theyre very unnoticable.

I noticed a few white/ yellowish spots but I can barely even see the cories since they spend most of their day hiding and when they do come out they race around the tank.

Velvet makes the fish look like they have been sprinkled with fine yellow/gold dust. Does your fish look like that?

0 tablespoons per 5 gallons is more like it.

Corys come from deep within the Amazon River, and do not like salt. Not only that, but salt has not been scientifically proven to prevent/treat/cure any illness. It's just a waste of money, IMO, and does more harm than good.

Medications with copper, if used correctly, will not harm corys but are very effective against external parasites.

That would be virtually impossible since they wont come out from under the space in the driftwood. 2 of them did come out when I tried to feed them and they wont stay still for more than a second. The simple movement of arm will scare them away, but I will try.

EDIT: The cories came out from their hiding spot now and after reading the symptoms of velvet, I think they have velvet.

My pandas don't seem to notice me at all, sometimes. This is to the point where I am able to pick them up without them noticing--that is, until another panda swims along, and the formerly sedate cory will suddenly spring to life and join the school.

0.3 percent salt solution= 1 tablespoon per gallon of aquarium salt dissolved slowly into the water. So, if you have a 32 gallon tank, that's 32 tablespoons of salt. Divide that over 6 days or so to give the cories a chance to acclimate, and that's about 5 tablespoons dissolves per day for 5 days, and on the 6th day add 7 tablespoons. Make sure it is AQUARIUM SALT tho, as table salt has "anti'caking" additives that can negatively affect your fish.

One of my cories keeps darting around the tank very quickly. He hits and moves gravel while he does this. Is this normal?

What size is the tank?
What are the other tank mates?
How long have you had these cories?
What kind of filtration do you have on the tank?

Wow. I only started this whole hobby a month ago so I really do not no what you mean by a salt solution.

Edit: And I'm concerned about my whole school of cories. They have been just resting under a piece of driftwood all day and have only come out for feeding time. When I make hand motions and try to get their attention, they dont even move. Is this normal?

Sounds like he has parasites, and he is flashing. Look him over very closely (if you can get him to hold still for a second) for any spots, films, or critters stuck to him. Ick looks like little grains of salt, velvet like a goldish film, and the other parasites, like fish lice and anchro worm are visible to the naked eye. Is he gasping at all?

The first thing I would do is start salting the tank to a 0.3 percent solution, which is 1 tablespoon per gallon. This treatment will kill almost all parasites, except the visible critters like the lice.

Since they are cories, who can be salt sensitive, I would divide the salt into 6 parts and only add one part per day, watching carefully for signs of irritation.

When dissolving it, take the portion of salt and put it in a net, then dip the net in the water. this way the salt will dissolve slowly and not shock the fish. My cories do just perfect ata 0.3% solution, as they have time to get acclimated to it when you add it over a few days.

You want to keep the tank at that 0.3% concentration for 14 days, so if you do a water change and take out 3 gallons of water, that's three tablespoons of salt to add back in.

Good luck and keep us posted.

The cory is insane. It swam right beside the heater and stayed inbehind it until I had to scare it away. Then it got inbehind the sponge on my filter intake and attached himself to the strainer. I had to shut the filter off so he would't get sucked up! Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Ok that one cory has gone whacko. It keeps darting around the tank every once in a while, faster than my danios. It doesn't look like it's injured yet though. As for all the other cories. They are still hiding.

Well, all of my cories are now hiding in a space under a piece of driftwood and they are being lazy. I guess that one that was groing crazy was just scared.

There is 6 cories in the tank. They are all blue cories ( they are brownish colour). When I mean hit, I mean he swims fastly and brushes the gravel aside. I heard the gravel hit the glass. Water is fine.
Ammonia=0
Nitrite=0
Nitrate= 5
pH= 7.6
Temp: 25C (around 76F)

Is he the only cory in the tank and what type is he? and when you say "hits" the gravel, do you mean to the point where he's getting injured? Cories are very active little catfish, and like to dart around and play their own games, which include power head surfing, and playing in airstone bubbles. Sometimes my cories kick the gravel up slightly...but not in big amounts. I wouldn't be concerned unless this is a really violent act to the point where he's going to get hurt. I suppose there could also be something wrong with water params...may be a good idea to check them. HTH
