I haven't gotten water perameters just yet as I really wanted to get these pics up so you can see whats going on.
I have a tetra with what appears to be a hole in his side and he is as crook as.

I have a guppy male, sick with strange white jelly poop.

One of my cories which is supposed to have black spots has gone really pale and looks ill.

I found one of my ottos dead, a guppy dead, the other cories looking none too chipper either.
I added Pimafix last night for the pale cory and again tonight but I think this is way more serious than a pimafix fix.

Its Easter Thursday pm here and no shops are open for meds until Tuesday next week. I will check what meds I have on hand when I do the water perameters.

Bren are these all occurring in the same tank?

I think water parameters and details of the tank(s) with as much detail as you can provide will be essential here.

Water ph 6 or less, my kit only goes down to 6 and the color is a very pale yellow.
Ammonia, not zero but the first kit reading is .25 and its not green enough for that. I guess .10
Nitrites 0, Nitrates 40. Bear in mind I did wc only a few days ago and pimafix does sometimes distort the readings.

Tetra did not look good so I helped it to tetra heaven.
The thing I did different lately was to remove a large bit of dw and an urn which had plants attached. Perhaps I released something out of the substrate?

I gravel vac'ed and did 50% wc slowly over an hour or more.
The filter had dropped down near the gravel and was clogged with weed and plant bits so I cleaned it and added fresh carbon and shell grit to raise ph slowly.
They seem to have settled down ok and the tetras are swimming through the bubbler, the 2 guppies are hanging near the top as usual, the pale cory has camped beside a big bronze for sympathy and protection, and the pandas are having a ball sifting the gravel while everyone else is sleeping.
I will not add any meds for the moment until I am sure its not just a water problem.
PS I did have cucumber in the tank today so maybe the white poop was that passing through the guppy.

First though when seeing the tetra and the guppy is tetrahymena pyriformis, with a couple of the lumps being resting cysts.

Trimethoprim sulfa for 6 days might shift that.

If I use the sulfa does it cause a tank cycle?
Is it safe in full strength for corydoras?
The guppy after looking fine yesterday AM, suddenly died PM.
No other fish look sick apart from the pale cory who has lost its spots and is sitting very quiet.

Its probably safe enough for cories, but it will likely as not , decimate a filter and destroy a cycle. Trouble is, if it is pyriformis to purge the aquarium you need to treat it, or run the main aquarium for a couple of months without fish in it. Perhaps its worth a shopt with jungle labs antiparasite first, and just treat the worst afflicted specimens in QT with triple sulfa.

Id deworm those fish too, (hence the jungle labs stuff recommendation) looks like that tetra has an escape wound from an ascarid worm. Might find youve got a pyrifirmis infection and a nasty case of ascarids combined. That sort of thing , though fairly rare to occur in the first place, when it happens it often happens as dual infections. Some parasites can be vectors for others.

The cory did not respond to the sulfa so after removing it with carbon and wc I added Waterlife Myxazin. The cory was too far gone to save but other fish in the tank seem quite cheery and not the least affected. I will continue the treatment until the course is complete.

I have two other tanks affected as well. Yes those stinking tetras have spent time in each tank.

I lost several fish in one tank and have just started the Myxazin. I was reluctant as it has many loach varieties and a spiney eel amongth others. Will see how they fare.

Last night one of the new kribs in the other tank was not looking good. Myxazin treatment immediately started and he is as good as gold tonight. I am keeping my fingers crossed.
