Hi there,
My female guppy who is very very pregnant is having a problem. It appears that she has tried to give birth, the unfortunate side effect is that it appears that the inside lining of the "womb" is poking out through her vent. She is eating, and yesterday was pooping. She does appear to be somewhat distressed. It looks like a small round bubble that is slowly growing larger over the past 2 days.
I am concerned as to what to do. I have tried feeding peas to help, no luck, as I dont think it is constipation.
What I am wondering, is there any hope of saving her? Is there a possibility that if I anesthetize her with clove oil just enough to knock her out could I surgically intervene and just carefully open the bubble and allow the pressure to drain? Or will this kill her? I have seen this happen to an otto before, and when the bubble ruptured the otto died instantly.
Please help, I dont know much about fish anatomy, but I would be willing to try if it means I could save her.

Update:
After A closer look, I have noticed that the bubble is coming from above the vent. It is not coming from the vent at all. There appears to be another hole above it, about 5 mm's or so above. She is struggling hard, looks like any other mom guppy while giving birth, however, no babies are coming out and the bubble is there.
I reached in a lifted her gently out with my hand to look, and the bubble disappeared back inside. 2 minutes later it is reappearing and expanding again. I think this is definetly a botched birth attempt.
I dont know what I can do to help....
