ScottF Fish Addict Addiction Hurts!! Posts: 542 Kudos: 330 Votes: 355 Registered: 28-May-2007 | There is a small "cottony" patch on the side of one of my white cloud mountain minnows. This is the same 20g community that has had one by one deaths of Tiger Barbs over time (wasting away and finally dying). I read in the profiles that Furan is the best thing to treat such an outbreak if in fact that's what's going on. Are there any other good meds? I have Melafix, Pimafix, and a general anti parasitic med (metronidazole/praziquantel) on hand right now. I cant get a good pic of it, the WCMM is acting normally, as are all the other inhabitants (GAE, Tiger Barbs (except for one Green TB getting thinner and wasting away), dwarf neon rainbows and other WCMMs). Any and all ideas are welcome! Water params are normal 75 deg F, 0 Ammonia/0 Nitrite 20 ppm Nitrate, 8.2 pH. Live plants, good lighting, excellent filtration/cleanliness) Thanks! |

Dose both Pimafix, and Melafix, as per the directions. I say this because Furan meds will kill off you bacterial colony. This is not a maybe it is a will happen. If you catch it early enough the two fixes should be able to handle it. but if it is internal then you have no choice but use the Furan. I have it for dealing with my Rainbows, as they are extremely susceptible to FC. mts.gif" border="0"> I vote do you? My Tanks at Photobucket |

I checked on Mr WCMM this evening when I got home from work and the cottony spot is much smaller. I am going to continue dosing through one 7 day course of both meds. |
