I HIGHLY recomend you use Furacyn on those fish! I got this from a betta breeder who swears its an awesome antibotic! And now, i'm with her! I found a female betta with droopsy, used this, and within 24 hours (I know it was less) she was compleltly better! I have never used this on my fish yet, and so far, i am going to find out who sells it, and buy them out!

Now I would like to know how well it treats Columnaris! anybody with good or bad stories with treating this hard to beat disease with this product?

Dropsy is a symptom, not a condition. The description of it is so loose and widely used that the meaning of it has become somewhat blurred. Dropsy is the visible swelling of the body, and pineconing of scales caused by a multitude of problems, from renal failure to water quality issues and bacterial infections, it can even be triggered by swelling and organ compaction from constipation, dwarfing, and swim bladder issues. Antibiotic will help only a small percentage of fish with "dropsy" and in some cases, especially those caused by renal issues you could actually kill the fish by using antibiotic as it increases stress on the renal system.

I just thought id clarify that before everyone starts chucking antibiotic at fish with dropsy symptoms, but im sure in those cases (probably about 20%) where bacteria are the cause, that your recommendation for a good dose of furacyn is an excellent one.
