hi i know i did the wrong thing but my water quality dropped severely in my O`s Tank from neglegence of doing water tests.his fin was actually being eaten away from the ammonia and nitrite(that is what the lfs manager said is this right?) and it is almost all grown back about 95%+,but it looks like possibly two small white blotches possibly dead scales?as these were there when his fin thing happened and i think a few of the white patches went away,so is this dead scales from SUPER BAD watere quality or is this ich,and should i treat it for ich?

Where are the blotches located? Are they hanging off him, or tight to his scales? Oscars are normally pretty resistant of ich, but water quality poor enough to cause fin rot like you're describing will most certainly have stressed the fish. You might find treating with something like Tri-Sulfur will help with the fin-rot anyway, and it also kills ich. Perhaps it would be better to just keep an eye on him for now, and see if the condition gets any worse over the next day or so. Do you salt his water? This can help prevent ich and other bacteria.

Sorry I caught this post late. I'm not the med expert in here but I'll treat this as oscar is healing. Keep the water quality top notch and maybe pull the charcoal pack and use melafix. It's a natural antiseptic that will prevent fungus from settling into the wound. Good luck !
