Hello to everyone,
...returning from work today I noticed that something wrong was going on with my favorite angelfish. Its left eye had popped out. Can anyone please tell me what is wrong with it and what kind of measures could I take to save its eye? This is a link with several pictures that will enlighten you (I hope).

Many thx in advance.

It looks like, and i'm no expert, internal parasites. I successfully treated a Mollie for similar last year, looking over my shoulder i can see he's still going strong.

in my 25 gallon tank these are the residents:
3 angelfish
2 corys albino
1 pleco
1 tiger barb (I know it doesn match but it was a gift and it has not fin ripped anyone)
and 2 clowns.

I purchased 8 small otos the past month. But I can see only 2 now.
I found 2 dead on the substrate I am wondering where are the other 4. I had never had any diseases in the 8 months I have the tank. I am wondering if this happened (popped eye) from the dead little fish I found (it took me a while)and those 4 I have not seen around (probably dead also). I am searching in the aquarium but I cannot find any other bodies. Are otos so sensitive to the introduction of a new tank. The water parameters in my tank were the same as the shops and I did a proper introduction of the fish, into my aquarium. I am not sure what caused the popped eye but for now I can only think it was the otos.

My angelfish is behaving normally with strong apetite.
All other fish look and behave normal.

my first thought that came to mind was popeye as seen on this link http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=16918267 then i took a little look at the pictures... it doesnt look like a bacterial infection.. to me it looks like either a physical thing (fight with another tankmate, or scrape on a rock) i would agree that it might be parasites.. as for preventing infection, i would use some melafix and see if you can QT the fish? im not sure if you have another tank on hand, but it would be better if you can QT the fish and treat like that. however, this fish might still lose his eye.. if not the whole eye.. possibly vision. many fish can live with one eye, and its not abnormal to see a fish that once had popeye, still have the eye, but no vision.

i hope i helped you little.. good luck!
