How can I see it that's a parasite or other problem? What other problems could he/she have? poor diet? they pass the day feeding on algae, my thank has allways a lot of algae so I though that they whould do fine. Could he in fact be a she and be pregnant with eggs? |

Does the fish defecate normally and if it does what form the the faeces take, thin and translucent, pellety, sausagey, what colour is it etc. A lot of plecs regulate their own weight when eating a natural food source, but its not unusual for them to gorge unnaturally on bloodworm, pellet foods and flakes, so it might even be really fat, or gorged on high protien foods. A picture might help ascertain the exact position of the swelling in relation to the internal organs, and give us a clue. |
