i posted about a week or two ago about having sick neons. right before they got sick (the day before) i noticed that one neon was missing an eye. he was floating on his side slightly, back curved. i figured that the missing eye happened prior to me buying them and i overlooked it. i thought he was a goner. then i treated the tank, and he was still living, i finished the treatment, still living. i noticed everday since the finish of the treament when i turn on the lights hes floating on his side not moving much. but after about an hour he peps up and looks normal again. he looks healthy minus the whole missing one eye bit. i wonder how long he will last like this

TBH that fish does sound like hes on his way out. Losing the eye could have meant that bacteria got into the nervous system or brain cavity. Id be tempted to end his suffering now. I think his life will now be numbered in days rather than weeks or months. It seems a shame I know, but maybe his life quality might not be worth the struggle of keeping him alive.

You might be able to keep him going for a while, but tetras are such tiny fish and he sounds like he has severe problems.As folks on here will know I dont give up on animals easily, but ive seen tetras in that state before, and they almost never make it.

yeah thats kinda what i figured. its weird how he peps up during the day. but today he didnt pep up as much as the other days so i think its his time.
