I have noticed that the frog's eyes have turned bright blue. He has been in the tank for over a month and is eating fine and acting normally. I can't think of any reason this would happen. The female Molly has had what appears to be ich or velvet since the first day I got her(my cousin just showed up with the pair one day), but she's had the white markings for over a month. I treated with Melafix for a week and have had the temperature at 82 for 2 weeks, but lowered it to 80 when my air pump broke. She is the only fish in the tank with the white spots, no one else has ever gotten it. There isn't anything else wrong with her, she is eating and swimming normally. The only thing that has changed has been the addition of the Molly fry(they were born a few days ago) which the frog has been snacking on. The parameters are: 0 Ammonia 0 Nitrites 40 Nitrates I'm going to be doing my weekly WC tomorrow, which is the reason my nitrates are a little higher, but nothing out of the ordinary. I really don't know anything about identifying diseases, so I would really appreciate some help on this. Thanks. |

First off here's the disease identifier which may be of some help http://www.fishprofiles.com/profiles/diseases/ Ick will look like small grains of salt. Mollies usually get hit by ick more than anything else. If it's ick, I'd get some freshwater aquarium salt and add as directed for the full duration recommended, fix or replace your air pump and get the temp back up to where you had it. Providing a good variety of healthy foods would also help. Mollies by nature appreciate some salt in the water. Take care & good luck. The Amazon Nut... |

I just set up a 15 gallon, I guess I can treat them in there. Can you think of a reason for the ADF eyes changing colors? Thanks for the help. ![]() |
