Garofoli Big Fish Posts: 337 Kudos: 143 Votes: 27 Registered: 12-Apr-2006 | I just came home today (Like 5 mins ago) and I found one of my male guppies with no balance, no gill movement, and an open mouth. He is also dancing around on the bottom on his tail. This was a very pretty guppy I bought from a small LFS. What could be the reasoning. The tank is a eclipse system 6. What is happening? Thanks. Please test your water first, and post the results. Also, is this a new fish? He may not be accustomed to your water, or he may have had a disease that got worse after purchase. Inky |

Ph may also be helpful if ya can. What fish are in the tank? How long ago did you purchase this guppy? Any other symptoms? Red marks anywhere, raised scales? etc? Thanks. I personally wouldn't be too worried about a dead guppy; it happens all the time. But it would be good to check the water parameters just in case... I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash. |

He might just be completely exhausted from tring to rise. They often kill themselves doing that. Check the tank for sudden rises or drops in temperature, and if that isnt the problem theres bacterial causes that you can look into. Its always worth checking water quality when one fish gets sick. Some little dude has to be the first to get sick. |
