Oranda - Signs of Distress | |
Bleeder Fish Addict Posts: 739 Kudos: 50 Registered: 16-Apr-2001 | Firstly, I'd like to say a big "HI!" to all my old friends here. Been ages since I last posted here and it is good to see some familiar 'faces' that are still here. Anyway, I purchased three goldfishes recently. Two Orandas and one Black Moor. They are all fine except for one. I am not too sure, but he is starting to display faint signs of a swim bladder problem. He is still mobile in the tank but he can't seem to dive really well, though he reaches the gravel after some effort. I have been feeding him boiled crushed peas to resolve this, but he'd still linger at the top of the tank after a while. He used to be really active and would never stop to linger at the top. Any inputs? They are such beautiful fishes and I'd hate for anything to happen to them. Btw, oxygen levels are good and I have been feeding them sparingly since day one. PH and GH/KH are also helpful. Come Play Yahtzee With Me! http://games.atari.com Http://www.myleague.com/yahtgames |

I guess I needed more time to understand these fishes. It is his way of "sleeping" I reckon, for he'd lie there motionless for long moments before swimming all over the tank again.
