Sev Not Doing Well After Move | |
Theresa_M Moderator Queen of Zoom Posts: 3649 Kudos: 4280 Votes: 790 Registered: 04-Jan-2004 | We moved yesterday, the fish from my 75g were in a large Rubbermaid tote from approximately noon yesterday until about an hour ago. I had a heater running in the tote; temp was 77F. Unfortunately my sev is in bad shape. His coloring is off, white and grey. He did not fight when I went to net him, hasnt moved since being put back into the tank, and he's gasping. All of the other fish are fine. I really don't have an extra tank to put him in; is there anything else that I could do for him? ~~~~~~~~~~~~ There is water at the bottom of the ocean |

Wingsdlc Fish Guru What is this? Posts: 2332 Kudos: 799 Registered: 18-Jan-2005 | Sorry to hear about your loss. Any time I do a move I make sure not to feed the fish for at least 3 days before the move. This means they don't make a lot of waste to mess up the water. I also add Seachem's Prime because it has slime coat and helps with ammonia. The next step I take is to have an air stone running. Once again I am really sorry about your loss. I know it sucks to lose fish. Even more so when you have had them for years. 19G Container Pond [IMG]http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y118/Wingsdlc/Ric |

Sometimes gently hiking the temperature can reduce shock, but its a dicey business. You can me The trick is not to overdo it.Reckon a severum could be helped in the short term by a temperature of about 82f. Dark and warm is the way to go. Sorry for your loss. |
