Sick Gourami? | |
cdnAndrew Small Fry Posts: 4 Kudos: 5 Votes: 0 Registered: 21-Jun-2007 | Hey everyone, I've been running an aquarium for about 4 months now. I added a pair of dwarf turquoise gouramis maybe 2-3 weeks ago. Last night, when trying to photograph my tank, I noticed what looked like infected tissue on my gourami's left side, near his gills and eye. It worried me, so I raced to the forum, discovered I needed some more information..so, here it is. http://www.flickr.com/photos/8284783@N06/1307991387/ and another picture http://www.flickr.com/photos/8284783@N06/1308878940/ So stats: 29 gallon tank, housing - 4 albino corydoras - 6 serpae tetras - 2 Dwarf Gouramis I'm running an eheim 2213 cannister filter and an eheim heater. PH: 7.9 Ammonia: 0 Nitrite: 0 Nitrate: 0 Temperature: 81 (I know it's high, my heater wasn't calibrated properly, so I've since solved that issue.. now just need to let the temp drop) Chemicals: I don't add much to my tank. I use "prime" after a water change (I add it to the water before putting it into the tank) and Flourish Excel fertilizer every few days (when I remember to add it). That's the newest chemical, within the last week and a half. Any suggestions, diagnoses, concerns or questions? Thank you all for your time and help, Andrew |

I never figured out what it really was. I suggest that you contact Bob Fenner and his knowledgeable team at www.wetwebmedia.com They are experts and advice is for free. Very quick turnaround time as well. Good luck and please let us know how it goes! |
