Hey guys a few days ago I noticed that my keyhole had some red marks...possibly cuts on his face, So I have been putting Premafix, THis morning I woke up and gound him/her with more red marks and taking guls of air, What is wrong and what can I do, My hospitle is occupied with baby platys but I can move them If I have too.

its a 48G I just did a water change 4-5days ago(after I started putting the medicine.

Cant give the water chemistry(wtv its called) Nitrates ect)

Tankmates 10serpea tetras 6corys 1-2ottos another keyhole and a Dwarf gourami.

Acctually I also put the medicine for 2 other reasons 1a serpea tetra have a popping out eye and had some kinda greyish fungus on him(which has gone away) And 2 corys had white mouths(errosion due to the rough gravel I think which hasent gone away.

Pleas help I dont want my Keyhole to die.
Another note, Hes about a little more then Half the size of my other keyhole and there about the same age.
Thankyou for your help.

10gallon: 8neons 5gallon: 1betta

Hi there,
any possibilities of a picture?

You should definitely have your water tested.
Hence why everyone should buy test kits.

Get actual numbers....any LFS will test your water.

Pimafix is for fungal infections, and this doesnt sound fungal to me, it sounds almost like hemmorhagic septicemia, but lacking a pic I can only guess.

Treatment would be isolation to a qt tank, and treatment with maracyn and maracyn 2 to cover both gram positive and gram negative infections.
Furan 2 or Tri-Sulfa would also work, but only cover gram negative bacteria i believe.

Keep the water super clean during treatment.
I suggest 50% w/c per day, followed by a re-dosing of 50% of the meds.
Some aquarium salt at 1 tablespoon per 10g could also be useful.

Good luck.
