First off, do you know what kind of tetra it is? What other fish is in the tank with it? How big is the tank? Does the tetra have a red/neon strip down his body? How big are the two fish? These answers would definatly help us in answering your question.

i think i know what happened, we have a 5 g tank with a pretty feeder goldfish, 3 neon tetras and a saimese fighting fish. the guy (moron) at the store where we buy all of our equipment from said that this would be no problem but:

what we have learned is:

we overfed our goldfish, whitch turned the 5 gallon tank into an amonia bath for all other fish.

the beta ate anything smaller than it was (neon tetras tailfins)

SO with that said we are completely restarting our tank!!

any hints??

Thanks

Thanks,

the beta and gold fish have been returned. my little girl was terrified when she saw the beta make a meal out of tetra tails!

will a 5g tank support 6 tetras? what about a male and female guppy? i have completely given up on lfs advice.

please pardon our ignorance we are trying to start this tank successfully with an intent to eventually move up to larger tanks.

hmm that was an unusually aggressive betta. Its good that u took the goldfish back. Anyways, a 5g would not support 6 neon tetras. A male and female guppy would be okay until they had babies that you had no where to put.
