Yesterday morning, all was fine in the tank. By the afternoon my male rainbow was dead and the others were trying to gobble him up. Ok, I accepted this as the tank has been set up for about 6 weeks and I know I should expect some losses. But he was swimming around fine and eating, etc. So today comes. 6:30 I turn on the light and feed everyone, just like every other day. I sit and watch them for a few minutes...everything is fine. All fish are swimming, eating and accounted for. By noon my female rainbow fish is dead and they're trying to eat her up now! Neither one of these fish were sick or anything, so I am baffled. All my levels are fine. The only thing I'm wondering is the hot weather kicked in and the last few days it's been in the 80's. Could this have done it? I thought rainbow fish were pretty hardy and easy to keep. Not sure if I'll replace them as they were the most expensive fish in there at $20 a pair.
All the other fish are fine...at least...so far...

I would also like a reply on this if anyone has any idea. I started a community of b. rainbows in my 72 gl.

Did you cycle the tank with the rainbow fish.

A year ago my lfs recomended I cycle one of my tanks (55gal) with 3 bosmani rainbows and 3 diamond tetras. All of my original rainbows died and I still have all of the diamonds to this day. Same as you sudden death.
