Dragonchild Fingerling Posts: 40 Kudos: 12 Votes: 0 Registered: 06-Feb-2003 | Hello, I have reason to believe that my green severum has a orange-red growth that is actually an ulcer. He is 8" long and shares a 55 gallon tank with a 13" Pleco and a khuli loach. The growth has been in place at the ba After recently arriving home from my vacation, I discovered that the new heater that came with the 55 gallon tank had decided to start malfunctioning and is know keeping the water temperature at a steady 86 degrees, despite the fact that I have tried to turn it down. Also, the pH is a bit high at about 8, but the ammonia is low at about .8mg/L. I would greatly appreciate any input at all about ulcers, as I have never dealt with them before (if this is in fact an ulcer). Thankyou for your help! You need to get handle on that ammonia. It should be at 0. the ph doesn't matter much unless its fluctuating. You need to do a big water change and get rid of the plec. Thats too small of a tank for it. |
