3 days ago i bought a school of 12 neons from the LFS. I fed them on spirulina vegie flakes and a small amount of bloodworms. This afternoon 2 neons dead with what looks like bloodworm coming out of them. Are neons not suppposed to eat bloodmorms? Or is this some sort of infection?

Neons can be a bit touchy as far as tetras go, especially when first added to the tank. What does your water chemistry look like (NH3, NO2, NO3, pH, hardness, etc.), how did you acclimate them, how big is the tank, and what are the other inhabitants?

When fish eat bloodworms, the poop often turns
reddish in colour.
Same as when they eat algae, it turns greenish or bluish.

Did you quarantine the new fish? New fish should
always be quarantined for 21 days minimum prior to adding
to your main tank, it can prevent spread of infection
that can wipe out your whole tank stock.

If you bought the neons and they died within a couple
days, Id suspect poor quality stock.

My last concern, if they died with "what looks like a bloodworm coming out of them", check this picture below,
it is of Camallanus worms, one of the most deadly and dreaded and hard to treat infections in tropical fish.

these fish were not quarintined because they are the only ones in the tank righ now. I acclimated the fish for 3/4 of an hour . So very sneaky; the worm doesn't look like that ccamallanus worm. No other deaths so far, infact all fish seem happy. I have stopped feeding them bloodworms for the moment.

Some time's it is how they are cout at the pet store. We bought 15 and 2 died within a day apart then I remberd the guy that cout them used his finger's to put them in the bag. The pet store replaced them and said they would deal with the young lad. They were just for food for our angels but still. And yes we alway's put them in a seprate tank for 3 week's

Neons are particularly sensitive little
fish these days. Its hard to find good stock.
Im lucky in that the neons my fave LFS sells
come from a good local breeder, and have a great
success rate.
Ive had only minimal success with neons from
commercial fish farms - ntd runs rampant as well
as other diseases, over medication and inbreeding.
Its unfortunate actually.

Im glad the worms dont look like camallanus!
Phew, my worst fish nightmare

hi
neons are one of the worst fish to buy as far as being sure they're all in great shape... commercial breeding is making them come out weak and e to all kinds of disease .. thus you always seem to loose some during the first few days .... next time try buying cardinals ... look almost the same but apparently are mostly wild caught and very hardy .. thus fewer deaths ... good luck with the rest ...if they're still alive after 3-4 days they will probably be okay now
