I just recently saved a stunning red veiltail betta from petsmart, everything looked great when I brought him home and put him in his bowl(temporary till I can buy him a tank). Yesterday I noticed a little fuzz in the middle of his body, this morning I went to check on him and the "little" fuzz has doubled. Is there any chance of saving him and what can I do to save him. He is a real looker and I had to rescue him from certain betta doom!

There are medicines for velvet. Are you sure its not body fungus?

Velvet isnt velevety, its more slimy. Fuzz will more likely be saprolegnia or columnaris. Try malachite green first and see how it goes. Or you could try melafix and pimafix together.

can I get this melafix and pimafix at petsmart? What about malachite green?

melafix or pimafix should be aailable. they can also be found a walmart if it is closer. they come in bottles.
