Hi everybody

I had a bronze cat fish that looked a bit swollen a couple of weeks ago - I thought it/she? was laden with eggs. A couple of days later it looked a bit drab and then it died - Had to isolate five of my neon tetras as they started to look sick. Then over the following days I lost a clown loach and two glass cats - but I never found remains!! even though I removed most of my decor and searched amongst the plants. All the remaining fish look healthy and feeding well.

Any one any ideas what the fish had got? could it be NTD? Anything I can dose the tank with? or do I just let nature take its course?

And where do the "dead" fish go - I can not find the remains anywhere and have seen none of the other fish tucking into a corpse!

Thanks in anticipation

Dave

snack

They also might be in the filter, if they could have gotten sucked through the intake tube

From my experiences... I lost a neon on a friday and did not find it till tuesday of the next week. I had just done a water change and thought I had sucked it up, when in fact, it had gotten down underneath this very low plant (kinda wedged into the gravel). I finally saw the other fish trying to get in there and then I noticed it I think sometimes the other fish eat at the dead fish.
Hope this helps a little

Have you got any snails in the tank? I swear my mystery snails could swallow dead fish whole.

Under and in plants, in the gravel, in decorations, behind filter or heater. There are places i've found fish.
