i have a questions for those who experienced a similar incident or those who know about this.....

is it possible for the fish to overeat so much it dies from it? i havent lost any fish yet, but 1 of the 2 yoyo loaches i got recently has been overeating so much that his stomach is portruding (deformed like its got a cyst or something). This happened for the second time today, and today he even lost his coloration so now hes white/gray (instead of white/black) and i guess im wondering is he going to die and what can i do to prevent the bastard from eating so much?

thanks
ps: i dont overfeed them, its just him that goes like crazy when he sniffs food

You tell that "bastard" not to eat so much...

But, in all sincerity, fish will eat until they feel full and no more.

Watch him for a few days for Dropsy, a bloating condition that I'm sure you've read about.

Sometimes fish get constipated and may bloat a bit as evidenced by a lack of droppings, or, droppings hanging on the fish.

i just fed them and again he went crazy like he hasnt eaten since 1942 and his stomach is potruding again. I dont think his sick or anything wrong with him i just think he swallows without chewing first

and hes color's back now

if he's eating too much, and munching on the other fish's food, you can always net him, give him his couple of flakes in thbe net, and feed the rest of the fish while he's in the net. I have to do this with my black moor when I feed the cories Oops, and hwne I say net, I mean one of those mesh breeding traps, I think it's less stressful to the fish. I never have to take him out of the watr, just scoop the breeding net under him. He's happy, and the cories get to eat
