I thought it was dead and stuck my net in the tank to retrieve it and it started moving again. But instead of swimming normal, it was doing spirals then sat on the bottom again, this time upright. I immediately set up my quarantine tank and moved it to there. I have had ich in my 55g for a week now but none of the cories have any spots. In my aquarium is 10 corydoras sodalis, 8 head and tailight tetras, 3 yoyo loaches, and 3 ottos. I have been treating the aquarium once every 24 hours with Ich Attack. None of my other fish are acting like this one cory, they are all very animated. The cory is breathing very slow and just kinda sits there. The only strange thing I notice about him is that his long barbels are missing. I never noticed that one of my cories was missing their barbels but he could have always been like that. If you need any more info just ask. ![]() |

They can clue you in as to whether there are any serious water quality problems. I hate to say it, but that fish is likely going to die soon. Rotted barbels could mean a bacterial attack (and quite often high nitrates levels), and if the fish has problems swimming and staying upright then it is likely showing signs of an infection that has progessed considerably. Sad to say, Corydoras which are in that state rarely recover. |

The parameter in the tank are 0 ammonia, 0.25 nitrite, and 20ppm nitrate. I did notice this morning that its gills were red..don't know if thats normal or not. |

If the cory was under stress beforehand the added nitrIte complications could easily send it over the edge. I'd keep an eye on the water quality. Dose some cycle if you have it, and be prepaired to perform water changes if any of the fish begin showing signs of stress. ^_^ [hr width='40%']"Ankh -Morpork people considered that spelling was a sort of optional extra.
