bknygurly1![]() Fingerling Posts: 21 Votes: 0 Registered: 22-Jun-2005 | ok its a 55 gallon in the u.s. florida stocked in the tank 2 parrot fish one in question now 4 angels 1 batfish 2 platies 3 cherry barbs water parameters are nitrate 15 ppm nitrite 0 ppm ph 7.8 alkilinity 120ppm hardness 150ppm any other info nessecary please let me know |

bknygurly1![]() Fingerling Posts: 21 Votes: 0 Registered: 22-Jun-2005 | i wanted to take another look think of a way to describe the lumps they look like a misquito bite almost and the skin looks lightly shredded like he was bitten as far as the way he is acting he is fine swimming and acting as usual.nothing in the way he is acting that is unusual.. there is one carve in the tank that both parrots tend to hide in and im wondering if the other is biting him/her and fighting for territoty i will see if i can get a picture of it and put it up possibly... |

It does sound like some sort of ulcer/wound that may be infected. I would find out what has been injuring the fish, correct that issue and treat with a combination of melafix and pimafix and very clean water. Increase the frequency of water changes to once every few days or so. The wounds should improve, if they don't let us know and we'll advise on a more drastic treatment plan ![]() |

bknygurly1![]() Fingerling Posts: 21 Votes: 0 Registered: 22-Jun-2005 | well he has no loss of appetite and the only thing i could think would injur him would be the other parrot but i changed the territories arounf that seemed to help and he is looking better have been doing water changes every other day and the bumps slowly seem to be going down so i hope i got it in time he lost a lil color at first but its coming back and he seems happy and thank you for your help...you guys are the best |
