	tank emergency
jefferysgirl Hobbyist Posts: 124 Kudos: 91 Registered: 22-Jun-2004	my guppies are dying off fast. today three fish died. my betta died of ick. two guppies died of unknown causes. now one of my guppies has little or no tail and an unsightly growth on the base of his tail. another guppy's tail has developed a large black area. all this has happened today. there were no signs of disease (except for the betta) until today. I removed the dead fish and have moved the guppy with the deteriorating fin to another tank by himself I have started treating him with melafix but i don't know if that will be enough or if it will even help. Also my black skirt tetras (another tank) are having problems. Three of them have very red gills adn two of these have something wrong with the scales that cover the gills. they look like they have been bent outward. All the nitrites and stuff check out well on both tanks. I am not sure what is going on

"check out well" doesn't say much. Also, tank size and other inhabitants ,like everweird said.
