![]() | tiny worm-like creatures |

They are very small and white in color. I can see them well because they keep getting caught in the flow of the filter. They are not attached to any fish and all of my fish seem OK. My water tests out fine. I called my lfs and they said that these are not parasites and that they are actually helping my tank. He said not to use any medication. Has anyone else experienced this? |

I don't know about " helping", but they're harmless. It's usually a sign of overfeeding or decomposing plant matter, etc. If you find them irritating / nasty looking, just watch the feedings and do thorough gravel vacuumings and they'll eventually go away. |

There are no live plants in my tank but I may have an overfeeding problem. My mother feeds my fish in the morning(I have told her many times not to), and I think that she is sympathetic to my Oscars because they ALWAYS look hungry. I will have to make sure she's not feeding them. The guy at my lfs told me that these creatures live under the gravel and eat all the wastes(this is why he said they are helping my tank). I definately don't want them around though. Thanks for the help. |
