Sorry to hear of your loss.

Full breeding colors with no female, means hormones that were fed or injected. This occurs at some fish farms. These fish often run into problems the moment those hormone levels bottom out. This doesn't take long at all.

You mentioned other fish lost. Within what period of time ? It sounds more like a disease going thru your tank. When that happens, it takes out the weakest fish.
Sick fish often hang out near the heater. Have you noticed any symptoms at all on any of the fish ?

Can you get your water parameters tested and post the results ? Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate, Ph, Temp.
Any major change done in the tank ? Large gravel vac or filter media change ?

this morning i went down to my fishtank expecting to see my pearl gourami dead (hasnt eaten in a week), but i instead find my bolivian ram dead! :#( he was the last fish i would have expected to die, as he was not at all shy towards me and the other fish, and he even had full breeding colors without a mate! i have not a clue as to why he died, but im starting to think he got burned by the heater, as i have had 3 unexplained deaths (including the ram), and they all died next to the heater.

I am not sure if fish can get burned by the heater, depending on what type you have. You might want to consider getting a heater cage though.Sorry about you fish

i dont think he was injected or fed hormones, but when he's really happy (like when he's being fed) his face would sometimes turn blue. i doubt they had diseases, as they ate, acted normal, didnt hang around the heater, and had good color. all were perfectly healthy one day, then were dead in the morning after, so no, there were never any symtoms. if there was a disease, it would have at least killed my weak, 4 year old white skirts.

In addition, please list the following;
tank size
all inhabitants
the last time you changed water and how much
Your normal water change routine; how often and how much
how much you feed
you filter
and nitrites and nitrates if you have gotten a new kit.

These will help us to help you figure out what is wrong.

my tank is a 35g, i do 20% water changes weekly, my filter is a whisper double filter (dont know exact model), and i feed a bloodworm cube and a pinch of tetramin daily.
i have 2 striped rasboras, 1 clown barb, 3 congo tetras, 2 clown loaches, 1 white skirt tetra, 2 rosy tetras, 3 black phantom tetras, and 2 boesman rainbows. i know im pushing the stocking limits, but the fish are healthy and there is a lot of surface agitation
