I would really like to redo all the rock formations in my 4ft Lake Malawi setup.... it is not bad but I would love to spend the money to make all the rocks the same variety and really cohesive in look.... like the ones with the white rock or all matching.....

What about you....

fishy wish list?

I'd like all my brown fish to become more colourful, and all of my algae to *poof* vanish!

For animals, the entire universe has been neatly divided into things to (a) mate with, (b) eat, (c) run away from, and (d) rocks. - Terry Pratchett

Most Realistic Wish - 16gl bow front tank with barbs, or some school with bright colors.

12'*4'*4' tank, built into a wall of a specialised room.

Drilled for sumps etc with an equal volume of water in the sump room. As much MH and power compact lighting as I can fit above it.

Basically, put a large bit of tree in it , plant as heavily as I can.

Now the fun bit, fish! about 20 discus, 20 angels, 200 x-rays, 200 head and lights, 100 cories (dunno what species yet) maybe a colony of bristlenoses and whatever else from the amazon basin i can find/fit.

Right now,

Just a letter in writing from my father so I can continue planning an event.

It'd eleminate much stress from my life, and if I wish I could decide to never speak with him again.

Once I get that I almost automatically get a nice big tank thats sitting empty.
Oh and a small well designed pond (one that is designed for minimal evaporation) with a brick BBQ nearby.

^_^

I like to think that whoever designed marine life was thinking of it as basically an entertainment medium. That would explain some of the things down there, some of the unearthly biological contraptions

My wish list?

The funds to keep fishes the way Ad Konings does.

For those who haven't encountered his style of fishkeeping, try this for size. He bought the house next door to his actual domicile (i.e., the one he lives in), just so he could fill it with aquaria. He had that second house gutted, rebuilt inside so that the floors could take the weight, then set about turning it into something rivalling a public aquarium - there are, if memory serves, three hundred aquaria in that house. And apparently, 90% of them are devoted to Cichlids. That is fishkeeping on an epic scale!

I'd LOVE to do something like that, but I'd go for more variety. Some freshwater, some saltwater. Some Amazon-style soft/acid aquaria, some Rift aquaria. Some specialist Characin collection aquaria, some devoted to mad frolicking hordes of Corys, some to families of Apistogramma Dwarf Cichlids, some to Killifishes, and some to unusual Labyrinth Fishes such as Parosphromenus deissneri and Malpulutta kretseri. Include in the selection a big FOWLR marine aquarium for Centropyge Dwarf Angels, and if the basement had the space, a really huge FOWLR set up for big marine fishes such as a Queen Trigger and a Cerise Grouper (Variola louti) - but that set up would have to be HUGE, because those fishes are tank busters ... for that 'big fish' marine aquarium I'd be looking at something like 5,000 gallons!

I'd also like a truly huge community aquarium - 500 gallons full of Corys, Characins, a dozen or so Apistogramma angyuara Dwarf Cichlids and some unusual small Loricariids such as Parotocinclus maculicauda.Deck it out Amano style with a forest of greenery and let the fishes frolic like mad in 500 gallons filtered by big Eheim units with capacity to spare.

Among the speciality aquaria, I'd have one for each of my 'soft spot' favourites - Anomalochromis thomasi, Neolebias ansorgei, Rasbora vaterifloris, Barbus gelius, the 'Junior Pandurini' Tetra, Epiplatys annulatus, Inpaichthys kerri and no doubt I could add a dozen more species to that list.

Oh, and of course, I'd throw open an invite to Ferretfish and DarkRealm Overlord to come and help me set up a reef. Along with a similar invite to Cup_of_Lifenoodles to prepare a tankful of rare L-numbers, and a brace of other FPilians to come and gawp at 300 aquaria all in one spot.

Heh, I can dream ...
